THE FAREWELL CLUB

The Farewell Club was a passion project that I started for a college course. The main goal was to provide support and awareness to the struggles that former athletes face after their sport ends. We created a website with unique features including merchandise, podcasts, blogs, and real life experiences.

The idea of the social media page was to promote the content on the website. Through social media, we also had the main goal to build a community of young people who were facing similar issues, what is life after sports. So many young athletes, whether they are post college or post high school, face the challenge of navigating life after sports. For so many individuals, losing something that has been so ingrained in your identity can be challenging and isolation. The Farewell Club was an initiative to showcase the fact that there are so many others with the same feelings of isolation and loss.

It can be hard and confusing for those in this position, as many individuals have not played sports or had a build in friend group. The main goal is to show that, yes life is confusing, hard and challenging for those entering a new phase of life without sports and you are not alone in that.
